Conversion Coatings - Iridite NCP
 For
customers that require a non chromate conversion coating to
satisfy the requirements of the RoHS and WEEE directives,
we offer Iridite NCP which produces a clear surface coating
with corrosion resistance of upto 1000 salt spray hours using
ASTM B117. Iridite NCP is also temperature resistant making
it suitable for high temperature operating environments such
as automotive engine components and electronic heat sinks,
as well as offering excellent adhesion to paints, sealants
& adhesives.
Restrictions
Aluminium alloys with greater than 2% copper content will
greatly reduce salt spray life.

Surtec
650
We are now offering Surtec 650, a hexavalent chromium free passivation for aluminium
based on trivalent chromium which offers excellent bare corrosion protection
comparable to hexavalent passivation. Surtec 650 produces an iridescent, faintly
blue to tan visible layer suitable as a pretreatment before lacquering, powder
coating or gluing. Surtec 650 also exceeds the requirements of MIL-DTL-81706
and
MIL05541 for bare corrosion (336 h in NSS per ASTM B-117, respectively, DIN 50021
SS); offers low contact resistance <0.8mOhm/cm2 and is heat resistant up to 100oC
with minimal loss in corrosion resistance. |
